The ring is set with warm mottled brown enamels which have been enclosed in a waved-shaped framed. It is hallmarked within the shank, ‘ME’ for Maureen Edgar, sterling silver, Edinburgh, 1977.

Please note, the ring cannot be resized due to the enamel.

Maureen Edgar is one of Britain’s most eminent enamellers. Born in Duns, the Scottish Borders, she attended Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, followed by the Royal College of Art in London during the late 1970s, before returning to her native Berwickshire. Her work can be viewed in Aberdeen Art Gallery, the National Museums Scotland and the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths’ where she was invested as a Freeman in 1989.
