As a Trustee for a museum commemorating the various Jacobite Risings I am always looking to add rare quality items to our collection.

“Indeed many exceptional items in the Museum's collection were sourced by R.L. Christie and the collection has much more importance as a result.”

To this end I have been dealing with Colin and Lyndsay at R.L. Christie for a long number of years. Their knowledge of 18th century artefacts is very impressive and is only matched by their seemingly endless list of contacts.

Indeed many exceptional items in the Museum's collection were sourced by R.L. Christie and the collection has much more importance as a result. I would not hesitate to recommend their services.

The Pearson Silver Collection is devoted to post-World War II designer British silver.

“Being a collector can be a lonely experience and Colin is a great sounding board with years of experience to draw upon”

In 2015, I met Colin Fraser when I exhibited a group of Gerald Benney boxes at the first Elements, Edinburgh’s festival of gold and silver. Colin was part of the initial team alongside Lyon & Turnbull Auction House, and the Incorporation of the Goldsmiths of the City of Edinburgh whose vision created this event.

The following year Mary Michel, the Incorporation’s then Director, invited me to exhibit more of my Collection with the pieces on open display by decade from the 1940s to the 21st century which Colin helped to display. To date, it was my largest exhibition and a terrific success.

In time, I plan to find a home for the Collection in Scotland and Colin has been involved in securing a number of fabulous Scottish pieces to strengthen those connections. Being a collector can be a lonely experience and Colin is a great sounding board with years of experience to draw upon.

He’s now a director of my Foundation and we are both pleased that the Collection has been acknowledged as being of national importance.

I had the challenge of wanting to give a Scottish gift to thank someone for organising a Conference in my honour and R.L. Christie suggested an Inverness luckenbooth brooch.

This was perfect as it was handmade and had a safety chain, all signs of quality. So I – and the recipient – were really pleased but I was particularly impressed by the presentation as it came in a beautiful box bag and explanatory card.

I also wanted the date of the conference engraved – not easy on such a small fretwork brooch – but they suggested laser engraving which was neat and discrete, so I could not have been more delighted.
